From business incubator to stock market launch
My experience of taking a business from incubator to stock market launch and the journey thereafter has taught me that the path seldom follows a straight line. The environment both within and outside the company is constantly changing. The business strategy has to be flexible and adaptable, but at the same time the fundamental goals have to be clear. The focus on financing, business and product development have to be accompanied with an openness for new ideas from the outside and evaluation of their effect on the company. Access to networks and a sounding board are important for the survival of a small business.

My Experience
I have dedicated my career to making research-based innovations reach the market. I have had the opportunity to be involved where ideas have developed into profitable business. This has involved project evaluation, identification of commercial potential, streamlining organisation structure, recruiting and building teams and making everyone work towards the same goal. I have seen colleagues grow and develop while the organisation flourishes. This has been an engaging experience, greatly utilising my negotiating and diplomatic skills.
My experience particularly lies within biotechnology and pharmaceutical development where the lengthy development is a particular challenge. In addition to this I have dealt with wide-ranging issues in the life science sector.
I have experienced the journey of BioInvent from a start-up company to a listed biotechnology company with multiple collaborations within the international pharmaceutical industry.
